1976 Gold medals in an unprecedented 5 out of 6 categories at the International Violin, Viola and Cello Makers Competition in the U.S.A.

1984 Awarded the titles of “Unapproved Violin Maker” and “Master Maker” by the Violin Makers of America, Inc.

1998 “International Art and Culture Award” from the Japan Society for the Promotion of Culture

2008 “Order of the Nation, Order of the Blossom,” awarded by the Government of the Republic of Korea
